four layer top deck musk torte

For a while now I’ve been wanting to make a cake higher than two layers and had been looking up different icing techniques, when I came across a ruffle cake.
So when my dad asked me to make a cake for my grandma’s 80th, I knew exactly what I was going to make.
It was a four layer vanilla and chocolate (alternating) sponge cake with blueberry jam in between the layers and musk buttercream frosting to finish.
I then made an ’80’ out of fondant and sprinkled with edible glitter and sugar pearls.
I must admit, I’m quite pleased with how it turned out and am looking forward to making another one, now that I know what goes into creating this beauty.
